Today my partner in life, Tim Williams, and I closed on our 3rd investment property.
All properties have been acquired under our real estate investment company, 40 Acres Investments – a company dedicated to building generational wealth in the Black community.

Today we acquired another 2.7 acres of lakefront property + a small cabin that we are excited to renovate and rent as an air b&b. We stay laser-focused on building generational wealth in our community & our family. 

Black families do not always feel safe traveling to or staying in small towns across the country. With these realities in mind, our goal is to create an accessible, safe, and fun rental experience where our community can vacation.

The origin of the name “40 Acres” comes from the 1865 field order, which was enacted to redistribute roughly 400,000 acres of land to newly freed Black families in forty-acre segments. 

The order’s immediate effect provided for the settlement of roughly 40,000 freed people, but the order was short-lived and overturned when the civil war ended. Most of the designated land was returned to the original owners, leaving newly freed people without the promised land or even a home.

We are actively working to fulfill a small portion of the original intention of the order to impact our Black family’s and our community’s financial trajectory by creating generational wealth, one strategic investment at a time.
